The Text Set attached below is an artifact that I created in my Literacy Learning in the Content Classroom course (EDUC 530). The purpose of this text set is to provide evidence in my ability to address the International Reading Association, now the International Literacy Association, Standard 5. This text set is a collection of materials to create a content area text set for 2nd grade science. The topic/concept of this text set is plant and animal habitats. This text set includes a variety of genres, across traditional linguistic and nonlinguistic platforms.

The Text Set attached below is an artifact that I created in my Developing Writers course (EDUC 560). The purpose of this text set is to provide evidence in my ability to address the International Reading Association, now the International Literacy Association, Standard 5. This text set is a collection of materials to create an Onomatopoeia text set for Kindergarten through 2nd grade. The purpose of this particular text set collection is to provide students with wonderful examples of how authors incorporate onomatopoeia to evoke a sense of sound through the use of figurative language. The students will be able to use these examples as mentor texts when incorporating onomatopoeia into their own writing.
