Classroom Modeling
On March 4th and 27th, 2015, I completed two demonstration lessons for a 1st grade teacher and a 5th grade teacher. I chose to model these lessons based on the specific need of the students that was recognized by the teachers. The 1st grade teacher identified beginning, middle, and end of a story to be an area of need for the students. I modeled a small group shared reading lesson for this teacher. The 5th grade teacher identified inferring to be an area of need for the students. I modeled a whole group lesson called Inference Carousel. The purpose of these lessons was to model literacy instruction for classroom teachers, while assuming a role as a future Reading Specialist and/or Literacy Coach. These lessons were created to support the students, while providing the teachers with materials, resources, and instructional ideas.
